Fungi ID:
Any ideas? A friend asked me for possible ID but I find this difficult with just a photo.

Re: Fungi ID
Hi Susanne,
I've re-posted your photo on to our Facebook page Cheshire Species Spotlight asking for help with the ID. I'll post here if we get any replies!
You could also try iSpot: http://www.ispotnature.org/forum/129

Re: Fungi ID
Two replies so far:
One suggests it's a type of Parasol (Lepiota sp.) Another is guessing at Amanita Inopinata - but that is a very rare species in Britain. It would help if you had more information on where it was found.
Thanks.

Re: Fungi ID
Hi Rachel,
I had already decided it was a Parasol and I think it most likely to be Macrolepiota konradii. I went to find it and it was on woodland edge, solitary with stem swollen at base with a superior large mobile ring. Gills were white-cream and distant.
Thanks for your reply.
