Just saying hello
Just saying hello
This is my first post to this forum - just to say hello and look forward to working with you all. I am in Ryedale, NE Yorks, in mixed Jurassic sediments.
Re: Just saying hello
Hello from Halton,
We are running a project, funded by HLF, linking biodiversity and geodiversity in the Halton area - it is called 'Bringing Geology to Life in Halton'. This is run by rECOrd and a group of interested amateurs. Chester University and Grosvenor Museum (Chester) are also involved which includes the Cheshire RIGS Group and the LGAP.
Nice to hear from you - is anything geological happening in your own area ??

Hi Julia - yes, there is the NE Yorks Geology Trust, who are defining RIGS sites and producing excellent leaflets along with organising walks and events in the area. See

Your bio/geodiversity project sounds interesting: there is of course always a close relationship between the two - in fact I have to catch myself from "circular reasoning" when id'ing plants and/or rocks on the basis of the other!
