Spruce Spider Mite (Oligonychus ununguis)

Post by SteveMcBill »

Spruce Spider Mite (Oligonychus ununguis):

Just (30th October 2014) found an infestation of Spruce Spider Mite (Oligonychus ununguis) on a Leyland Cypress (Cupressus × leylandii) hedge in a back-garden in Woolton, Liverpool. Most of the centre and lower areas of the hedge have turned a rusty brown and there is extensive webbing across the twigs. The mites are very small.

Leyland Cypress is found in many gardens and parks across Cheshire so it is quite possible that this mite could be found within the County. Currently, as at 31st October 2014, there are no records on the rECOrd database at all. Here is your chance.
