Pupa identification and additional question

Hello,
Could anyone confirm if this is a Speckled Wood (Pararge aegeria) pupa and also, will it successfully pupate if not hanging? (If not, can we successfully artificially hang it?).
Found on the soil of a pot containing only grass after a recent move.
Current location WA3 6TL - Pot originally in WA3 6PG.
