Recent Cheshire Butterflies:

Butterflies that have so far been recorded in Cheshire this year )2011)(to my knowledge) include Brimstone, Small Tortoiseshell, Holly Blue, Large White, Orange-tip, Peacock, Comma and Green Hairstreak - anyone seen anything else in Cheshire yet?

HI Paul,

I think i may have spotted a "Woodland Brown" up at Mouldsworth NR Frodsham. Just looking for anyone who may have spotted one anywhere and especially in that part of Cheshire.

Reply to Jane's post...."Woodland Brown"....not an 'official' name for a UK butterfly. Do you mean Speckled Wood? In which case it is rather common in Cheshire.
