Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui):

Despite the far from ideal weather today (Sunday 9th Ocotber 2011) on the last Habitats and Hillforts event, we did see a Painted Lady at Meadow Bank Farm near Broxton!!

I saw a Red Admiral at Gorton train station yesterday and 2 Foxes on the embankment by the station too. Saw 3 ladybirds one a 22 spot, and lots of flies on the way to the station too. Oh and a hoverfly in my mum's garden as well today. Not expecting to see many insects from now on what with the cold weather looming.
