Unidentified Larvae:
Hi Folks,
The upper photo was taken on 8th October last year but for numerous reasons I've not gotten around to asking what its identification might be until now. Principal one being that annoyingly the head isn't in focus and neither was it on any of the other photos I took of it ! Nonetheless I'm hoping there's enough there for someone to make sense of.
The second was taken yesterday in the garden, munching its way through our Blackberry bush ...... actually taken with Marions' mobile phone.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Unidentified Larvae
Hi Steve,
Have a look at Mottled Pug for the first image. October would be the end of it's larval stage, but it looks about right.
No idea about the second.

Hi Steve,
Mottled Pug could be worth a shout. Right time of year and feeds on Hawthorn and Blackthorn and other trees and shrubs.

Re: Unidentified larvae
Could the larva be an early instar of the November moth ? Have attached photo of one that has hatched from some eggs. It changes to a uniform green then acquired the banding.
