Hi Steve,

Re my pics on the 6th April 2017, I retained 10 rolled leaves and this morning this creature was in the sealed jar. Approx. 2-3 mm.

Is this a parasite that has attacked the Firethorn Leafminer pupae ?

Hi Barry,

It looks like one of the fruit flies whose larva feeds on berries, maybe Pyracantha berries. (e.g. Anomoia purmunda).

Glenn Rostron could probably identify it correctly.
