50 Up

50 Up:

Hi Folks,

Another five NFY last night, including Pale Tussock, which is a rarity in the garden.

My local patch was excellent during the day, with completely new species in the form of Mottled Pug and Syndemis musculana. There were also Drinker larva, Adela rufimetrella, Nemophora degereella, Ancylis badiana and one (below) that I feel I ought to know but can't bring to mind ......

Incidentally, it took until 31st May last year to get to the 50 mark.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Yes - I went back to the site today and found quite a few on the wing - thought on the day that it was way too early but checking back through my records I've recorded them in May several times before.

Had Nemaptopogon swammerdamella also today which was the first for Gowy Meadows as far as I can ascertain.

Cheers,
Steve
