County First ?

County First ?

This adventive Boxworm Moth (Cydalima perspectalis), was in the trap at Elworth this morning. I found a photo of it in Chris Manley's British Moths 2nd edition and as it is not on the spreadsheet I'm thinking it is new for Cheshire ?

Could it be so ?

Pete Atherton.

Almost Pete, but Fungalpunk Dave beat you by a few days, see:

Looks like our Box hedges are going to get hammered in the next few years now that this species is moving in.

Steve

A report on the Facebook group "UK Moths Flying Tonight" of a C.perspectalis found in Runcorn this morning (10/10/2106).

Cheers,
Paul

Thanks for including the Runcorn record Paul, let's hope the recorder submits it.
