Brookhouse Moss - 10/08/2017:

A few species were flying in the evening sunshine yesterday at Brookhouse Moss, the most common of which was still Catoptria margaritella. Counted 29 Phiaris schulziana as I walked amongst the Heather, which also produced a couple of Aristotelia ericinella, both species previously unknown in SJ86. Marsh Oblique-barred was still flying but I only had the one, although I may have left before their main flight period.

Hedge tapping along the local lanes was far less productive than on previous visits, although there are many more leaf miners to be seen now.

Regards,
Steve
