Oak Leaf Mines:
We know Oak mines are tricky but wondered if any of these could be identified from photographs.
1. Leaf edge mine. Fly ?
2. Flat blotch mine on underside of leaf.
3. Blotch mine.
4. A small larva in a silk spinning.
5. & 6. Look like the same type of gallery mine.
Hope some may be identifiable.

Re: Oak Leaf Mines
Hi Bob & Helen,
1. Looks like Profenusa pygmaea.
2. An early Phyllonorycter mine. The larva is still feeding, so you may struggle to rear this one. Best waiting until they pupated.
3. Not sure, maybe another Phyllonorycter mine.
4. Probably Carcina quercana.
5. & 6. You need to note where the egg is on the leaf and also find one which is tenanted before you have any chance of sorting these out.
Regards,
Steve
