Feathered Ranunculus - Best Of A Poor Night:
Feathered Ranunculus (Polymixis lichenea) - 19/09/2017
Feathered Ranunculus (Polymixis lichenea) - 19/09/2017
Hi,
Last night yielded 19 moths of nine species. Four Feathered Ranunculuses were the best of the night.
My garden seems to be a hot spot for the species. Here are some facts.
Every year since 2005 I have recorded them in the garden usually from mid-September to early October. Earliest date September 03rd, latest October 19th. Not including 2017 recs I have recorded the species on 96 occasions amounting to 345 individuals. Best year so far 2009, twenty records producing 80 individuals. Most in a night 13 on more than one occasion.

Hi Harry,

My earliest record was 03/10/2009.

Come to think of it, that was my only record.

Mel.

Thinking of moving to The Wirral.
On second thoughts it's too windy and I'm a Man U fan.
