Ectoedemia angulifasciella Mines on Rosa:
Hi Folks,
The attached photos are of mines taken on my local patch on Sunday. Tradition dictates that they will be Stigmella anomalella but I'm not convinced these are - offers ?
Also, does anyone have an idea what this plant might be ?
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Mines on Rosa
Hi Steve,
Rose mine is Ectoedemia angulifasciella. See photos on my post:

They are late miners and just starting to appear now. The problem with this species is finding Rose leaves still on the bush as most have dropped over here in the east but found plenty yesterday at Blakenhall in south Cheshire.
Your plant looks to be one of the Goosefoot family and one of the leaves may even have a Chrysoesthia sexguttella mine on it. Any chance of a return visit for a better photo ?
Regards,
Steve

Re: Mines on Rosa
Hi Steve,
Thanks for all that. I'd agree with Goose-foot and having looked at the leaf-mine site, with Chrysoesthia sexguttella too - it was the mine that attracted me to the plant in the first place - there were I think four on the plant in total. I also thought I'd made a photo of one of them but seems not. I'll head out there and see if I can re-find to be certain.
Cheers,
Steve
