Leaf Rolls On Ash

Post by SteveH »

Leaf Rolls On Ash:

Hi Folks,

Just back home from a day out in the post-Ophelia winds ...... not too much on the moth front as you might expect but a lovely adult winter Sabine's Gull about half a mile from home was a shock for sure !

OK to moths, or leaf rolls in this case.

I came across these this morning and there seems to be nothing other than a Nationally Scarce A, new for Cheshire species, which I can't bring myself to believe it is. However, the roll isn't brown, which seems to rule out Gracilaria syringella ......

Hi Steve,

Was there any larva, frass, or signs of larval feeding inside the roll ?
If not I would suggest it's probably just decay.

Regards,
Steve
