Highlights of 2017

Post by Greg »

Highlights of 2017:

Morning All,

As I've already mentioned, 2017 has been a good mothing year for me. Excluding micros, I've had 15 new species
in my garden. Shears, Dark Spectacle, Dingy Shell, Little Emerald, Small Yellow Wave, Sycamore, Herald,
Slender Pug, Coxcomb Prominent, Double Lobed, Shaded Broad-bar, Devon Carpet, Maple Pug, Purple Thorn
and Pinion-streaked Snout, taking my garden macros to 260 species since Aug 2014.

But, the highlights of the year have been some of the 41 macro lifers I've had overall, some of which have been
absolute crackers. It makes all the travelling, standing around in the cold and wet trying to keep my eyes open and getting eaten alive by swarms of biting insects well worth it.

Looking forward to next year, which I hope will be even better.

Below are a selection of my favourites.

Morning Greg,

Some real stunning photos there sir - if any of them were Cheshire then it would be great to know which ones so as to include some (or all !) in the forthcoming Report for 2017.

Cheers,
Steve
