Drinker Moth:
I've just been informed of substantial numbers of Drinker Moth (Euthrix potatoria) larvae at Burton last weekend. Is anyone else noticing good numbers at the moment ? Not a species which occurs over here in East Cheshire, so not something I'm likely to come across. Luffia ferchaultella was also found at Burton, so it's good to know that this still occurs at the site, as our last record dates back to 2004.
Regards,
Steve

Re: Drinker Moth
Hi Steve,
I didn’t see it, but I have been informed that during one recent high tide at Parkgate, which reached the wall, there were many larvae being washed in as the tide rose.
Apparently bird watchers and members of the public were trying to save them, by collecting and placing them above the water level.
