Speyside Moths

Post by rogerwilkinson »

Speyside Moths:

Have seen a few posts on Agonopteryx recently and would like to ask opinions on this one I caught last week in Nethy Bridge in Speyside. I thought it may have been A.scopariella but was uncertain on this.

I am also posting photos of two interesting macromoths I caught there. Rannoch Sprawler, and what I think is Brindled Ochre. Both were new to me.

Hi Roger,

A couple of early Scottish stunners, Rannock Sprawler and, I agree, Brindled Ochre (overwinter female full of eggs).

I'll have to get up there one of these springs.

Any early Kentish Glory yet ?

Regards,
Greg

Thanks for the comments Greg - I am still to have the pleasure of a Kentish Glory.
