Incurvaria masculella

Incurvaria masculella:

Hi Folks,

Had a wander around my local patch for a couple of hours this morning without seeing an awful lot apart from several individual Incurvaria masculella. Far from being a common species hereabouts - it was the first time I'd recorded it on Gowy Meadows.

Few adult moths at Marton yesterday, although I did disturb both Incurvaria masculella & Parornix anglicella from a Hawthorn hedge. Plenty of larvae about Eriocrania semipurpurella; Eriocrania sangii; Coleophora serratella; Anthophila fabriciana; Northern Winter Moth; Winter Moth; Scarce Umber; Dotted Border; Mottled Umber; Yellow-tail and many more I failed to ID.

Regards,
Steve

Thanks for the photo of Northern Winter Moth Steve, identifies one of my previous unknowns !

I've attached another larva, which was hanging from a thread on a Hawthorn bush. Very nice looking thing - might be obvious but there were in fact two coloured lateral lines ..... I've no idea what it might be though.
