Spotted Shoot Moth?

Post by Tim_Ward »

I attach 3 photos of a micro from my trap last week. The 3rd of these was taken after the moth unfortunately expired but is included since it shows the other side. I think it might be a Spotted Shoot Moth but I'm far from certain. The wing length is 8-9mm. I'd welcome the advice of the more expert................Tim

Hi Tim
Rather worn but looks OK for Spotted Shoot Moth Rhyacionia pinivorana.
If you still have it, save it and I'll confirm by dissection
Regards
Steve
