Finally limped across the 150 mark

Post by SteveH »

Morning folks,

I'd well over 20 species recorded before I'd removed the first egg-box, so was expecting something epic... but nothing could have been further from the truth!

In the end there were just over 100 moths of 44 species with six NFY taking our year list to 153. Shouldn't complain too much as we were away for much of the early spring. 'Sadly' the same is going to be true of July so we're not expecting a big year list come October.

Nothing unexpected really from the catch though the Green Oak Tortrix was a fine, bright specimen and Common Carpet finally put in an appearance.

Cheers,
Steve
