Plume

Post by mikew »

Plume:

On 29th June 2018 I trapped a rather warm looking plume moth. I sent the photo to Steve Hind who thought it might possibly be either Triangle or Tansy Plume but he couldn't be sure of the identification from the photo.

I sent the specimen to Steve who was able to identify it as Hoary Plume, Platyptilia isodactylus, a new moth for Cheshire.

I am not aware of any Marsh Ragwort, its food plant, in the Burwardsley area.

Many thanks to Steve.

Regards,
Mike
