Small Ranunculus

Post by melbellingham »

Small Ranunculus:

Despite the overnight low of 18C (22/07/2018), there were only 33 species this morning. Nothing NFY, and only small numbers of the usual Common Rustic aggs. and Agriphila straminella (the most common species at present), but there was one highlight.

When checking the Buddleia for the usual Silver Y's and Yellow Underwings, I found Small Ranunculus Hecatera dysodea nectaring. Recorded the previous night, and released earlier, it was good to see it had survived.
