Phycitodes sp?
Phycitodes sp?
I think this is one of the Phycitodes sp. It has a forewing length of a little over 11mm but I can't make out the black spots near the costa at one third so I;m thinking it is maybe one of the maritima/saxicola pair. Is it possible to tell which one is most likely from the accompanying photos? Either would be a first for me. Cheers. Martyn.
Re: Phycitodes sp?
I think you are right Martyn but also reckon that the pair need to be dissected to be certain of the ID - unless Steve HH says otherwise.

Re: Phycitodes sp?
Yes, only dissected Phycitodes maritima and Phycitodes saxicola are considered acceptable.

Re: Phycitodes sp?
Thanks both. I am just wondering whether/how to record this in MapMate as there doesn't seem to be an 'agg' option?

Re: Phycitodes sp?
Hi Martyn
Suggest recording it as 'Micro sp. (Unidentified micro lepidoptera species)' with Phycitodes saxicola/maritima in the comments field.
