Webb's or Bulrush Wainscot?

Post by andrewjcharlton »

Following last week's Webb's and Greg's possible from today, is it just coincidence I had this moth in the trap this morning? Without a lot of markings on it I put it down as Bulrush, but that is a moth I have seen only once in my garden, in 2002. So guys please take a look at this one for me too....

Thanks,

Andrew

Hi Andrew

I'd say yours is a Bullrush Wainscot, note the black dashes and arrowheads on the trailing edge.

Yup,

the only likely confusion species would be Large Wainscot but I agree with Greg, Bulrush.

Cheers,
