Mines on Snowberry

Post by Tim_Ward »

Here are some mines on Snowberry from my garden. The leaf-miner key tells me that these could be Phyllonorycter emberizaepenella or P. trifasciella but looking at online photos hasn't helped me make an id. Can anybody help please? Tim

Hi Tim

The blotch mines will probably be Phyllonorycter emberizaepenella, although I try to rear these to rule out Phyllonorycter trifasciella. Gallery mines on Snowberry are made by Diptera.

Steve
