There were no other trees or shrubs growing above the hedge that the larva could have dropped from.

Coleophora Case on Beech.
Found on a Beech Hedge yesterday (21/2/2019), this case looks to me to be similar to that of Coleophora serratella, which I know can sometimes be found on Hornbeam, but I can't find any references to Beech.
There were no other trees or shrubs growing above the hedge that the larva could have dropped from.
Any suggestions appreciated.
