We should rapidly mention that they are not from trapping. Like many others we have not put the trap out recently. Wish we were back in Spain!
Firstly a larvae found in Ash Keys on the 13th September produced a moth on the 3rd May. Pseudargyrotoza conwagana.
Secondly we caught a long horned moth on a walk to Waverton Gorse May 6th suspect Adela reaurmurella.
Thirdly a larva found in a thistle stem 20th Feb produced a moth this morning 9th May We think it is Epiblema cirsiana or it could be Epiblema scutulana.
Also three bird's nests we bagged in the autumn have produced brown house moths, white shouldered house moths and a thick collection of cocoons from a third box is producing Bee moths in numbers.

Re: 3 new moths
Hi Bob & Helen
The Epiblema will be scutulana as that species breeds in Spear & Marsh Thistles, whereas cirsiana breeds in Black Knapweed. The adult appears to have a long wing, which also points towards scutulana
Adela reaurmurella is correct.

Steve
