Hatched from great willow herb

Post by bobhelencoan »

Found the small larvae on willow herb 6th May, Hatched this morning but unfortunately not very successfully. We think it is Cyclamen tortrix, Clepsis spectrana body length 10 mm. Photos of moth, pupa case and larva below. Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen
Both larva and adult look OK for Clepsis spectrana.
Good to see you still have it over your way as it has become rare here in recent years.
Back in 2001 I caught 64 in the garden but during the past six years I have averaged less than two a year.
Regards
Steve
