Micromoth ID help please

Post by rogerwilkinson »

Caught a small moth this morning which I first thought a Tineid perhaps a Cork Moth . However I really cant find a good match for it . Any help would be appreciated. I think it may have lost a few scales but is still well patterned. Thank you.

The very strange specific name nana means "dwarf" - one of the few things I remember from my lost copy of "The Scientific Names of the British Lepidoptera" by A. Maitland Emmet, a fantastic book which I wish I could find!

(This species is attracted to the netting around my kids' trampoline by the way, for some reason...)

Cheers
Paul
