Micro help please

Post by Tim_Ward »

These 3 micros turned up in the garden trap last night and I'd welcome guidance on what they might be and whether dissection is required/worthwhile:
The first is a very tiny Coleophora (wing only 3mm)
The second is a larger Coleophora (wing 5mm)
The third is possibly a Coleophora (but I'm not sure) and is again tiny (wing 3mm)
Many thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim

I'll have a look at them for you, if you keep hold of them.

Suspect the first Coleophora could be caespititiella, as there appear to be plenty around at the moment. Not sure which Coleophora the second one is likely to be.

Regards
Steve
