Mullein larva

Post by Greg »

Evening All

Just found another Mullein larva on my tiny Buddleia bush. It's the third year out of five.
I've still not seen an adult yet. I'm grateful though, that they use my garden to breed in.

Afternoon Everybody,

In case anyone is interested. The Mullein Larva (which is still present eating up my Buddleia), seems to take a preference to my very small Buddleja x weyeriana 'sungold'. I have many varieties of Buddleia in my garden,
this one seems to to be the one they always choose. So if you plant one of this variety in your garden maybe you
could attract one too.

Hi Greg

Water Figwort is also listed as a foodplant. I bought a plant for my tiny pond a couple of years back; it self-seeds away from the water and I have had monster plants in the garden for the past two years, but sadly no Mullein larvae as yet.
