89 species last night if our ID's are correct!.
Star we think was small marbled, has it been to Cheshire before this year?
Several micros we would appreciate conformation of ID as they are new to us. Plus a few others.
Homoeosoma sinuella NFG
Batrachedra praeangusta NFG
Acrocercops brongniardella NFG
Notocelia roborana noticeably larger then several notocia trimacula also in the trap.
Acrobasis advenella
Phycita roborana and Bryotropha terrella.
Have kept all those we are unsure of plus Small marbled in case ID need confirming.
Thanks in advance Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen,

the Small Marbled is either the 2nd or 3rd Cheshire record depending on the dates yours and the Little Sutton individual were trapped. - excellent stuff!

I'm fairly sure your Acrocercops brongniardella isn't one; Acrocercops brongniardella is a stunning micro with beautiful ruby red eyes. It also stands up tall like a Caloptilia.

Well done!

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve can you confirm any of the other micros?
The Small marbled was in our trap night of 6th July. Must be a Cheshire invasion! We have had Vestal this moth too.
Have posted all our photos of Acrocercops brongniardella ?. It does have red eyes and does sit up like a Caloptilia species though not as high. We do still have the moth. Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen,

yes, that's fine for brongniardiella now I can see the eyes etc;

Homoeosoma sinuella looks OK too, as does Bryotropha terrella and Acrobasis advenella - the rest I'll leave to SteveHH :-)

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Bob & Helen

I think the only remaining queries are:
Notocelia roborana which is Notocelia trimaculana
Phycita roborella which is correct

Regards
Steve

Hi Bob & Helen,

I passed on the query Batrachedra because I'd never seen the moth in my life at the time... a few days later and I now have :-)

Cheers,
Steve
