? Rose Leaf Miner Stigmella anomalella

Post by MothNoggin »

Hi All
Is this likely to be a leaf mine of Stigmella anomalella?
Looks like some examples on the web?
Cheers

Hi Nev,

I can't tell if thats on Rose or not - it would need to be for anomalella. That having been said, the larva at least would need to be checked to try and rule out centifoliella. Ideally they need to be bred through. Have a wait and see what StevHH says.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Neville

The mine is probably too old to be sure which species it is. We need to be able to see the frass colour at the start of the mine which is green in Stigmella anomalella
