After a very good 450+ moths on Monday night was are still trying to confirm the identity of some.
1. Had 48 Common footmen and 28 Dingy footmen but also this very orangey coloured specimen is it a buff footman?
2. We think this ypsolopha species is sylvella
3. Is this micro Brachmia blandella?? Two photos.
4.A damaged white micro. Could it be Carpatolechia proximella?
Some micros we can't give a name to. It may not be possible but you never know.
5. Brown micro
6. 5mm small micro
7. Another brown micro but no obvious markings on the top view
8. Tiny mompha?
9. Dark micro
Any help much appreciated as always. Bob & Helen

Re: Help needed with ID
3. yes, Brachmia blandella
4. does look like a Carpatolechia but is too worn to ID from a photo. I'll check it for you if you want to retain it.
5. a worn Eudemis profundana
6. this will be Borkhausenia fuscescens
7. possibly Eucosma hohenwartiana
8. possibly an Elachista
9. Holly Tortrix Rhopobota naevana - I've copied across my comment to Neville as I know not everyone reads all the posts:
The Holly Tortrix Rhopobota naevana is a variable species with many forms appearing rather dull but they all have the same distinctive resting posture, which once learnt and combined with the distinct notch below the apex of the wing make this an easily identifiable species.

Re: Help needed with ID
Steve, Very many thanks for the ID's and comments. That means we had over 90 species on Monday night!!
The damaged moth was not kept as we thought the damage would prevent any dissection.
We do still have the two you mentioned as possibles, Eucosma hohenwartiana and the Elachista if they are of any use.

Re: Help needed with ID
A couple of top views of the micro thought to be Eucosma hohenwartania. I think it may confirm the ID. Bob & Helen

Yes, I'm sure you are correct.
