Unidentified Worn Macros from Friday.

Post by MPStanyer »

The first one I initially though was Mottled Rustic but on closer inspection I think I can discern a hint of an outline around the kidney mark so maybe Uncertain/Rustic agg.
Any thoughts on this and the other two would be much appreciated - even if the conclusion is unidentifiable.
Thanks.

Hi Martyn
Probably all Uncertain/Rustic agg.
There have been plenty of worn specimens in the trap recently

Thanks Steve - would you record them as such in MapMate or is it best just leaving them out when so worn?

Only ever record those which are 100% certain.
If you want to record them but are unsure of their ID, you can always use an aggregate but if using the top level aggregates such as Micro sp. or Unknown Lepidoptera, then please add a comment indicating your best guess
