Evening All
It was mentioned a couple of weeks ago regarding the apparent lack of insects seen in our gardens.
Well after a weekend of torrential rain, this morning in bright sunshine, as if by magic
the garden was teeming with bees, beetles, hoverflies, butterflies (upto seven species)
and dayflying moths (Mint Moths and a single Smoky Wainscot). Among the many species of
hoverflies were three Volucella zonari. All busy feeding, making up for lost time.
