Fresh moths at last

Post by Greg »

Morning All

A decent catch last night. It was good to see some nice fresh moths
instead of the worn tatty ones I've been getting lately.
A Silver Y was the first in quite a while, they seem very thin on the ground this year.
Also where have all the Green Carpets gone? Only caught 8 this year, this time last year 38.
Has anyone else noticed a decline this year.

Hi Greg,

I first caught Green Carpet here in 2007. Numbers were then low single figures, but in 2013 I managed to record 15, although I had blanked in 2014.

In the last 3 years I have had 11, 10 and 12, but none this year (yet). Still hoping though.

Recorded one of those pesky Six-striped Rustics (NFY) last night, but as predicted I didn’t get too upset about it. :D

Mel.
