Since Large Yellow Underwings first appeared in the trap this year, I have checked my buddleia each night, and always found them nectaring. Usually in single figures, but I have seen up to 12 on a couple of nights.
While attempting to photograph very active butterflies on the garden buddleia this afternoon, I noticed a Large Yellow Underwing also nectaring.
I’ve often flushed LYUs when gardening, but I can’t remember seeing an active one during the day before.
Also worth a mention is that in the moth trap on the nights of 3rd. and 8th. of August I recorded a single Painted Lady butterfly.

Re: Nectaring Large Yellow Underwing
A couple of weeks ago, I went out into the garden on a very warm night - there were LYUs everywhere, nectaring on the Buddleia in particular...
