Pale Eggar

Post by CliveJ »

The highlight at the allotment this morning was this Pale Eggar. I've trapped it in Herefordshire, but if memory serves me well this was the first time I've encountered it in Cheshire.

I also enjoyed this Agriphila geniculea.

Hi Clive,

The Pale Eggar is a good moth for Cheshire. I've only ever caught one in Shropshire.

Hi folks,

only the second Pale Eggar I've heard of so far this year.

PS I'm getting really good numbers of geniculea at the moment too - 18 last night (only three inquinatella)

Both of these grass moths are rare in my garden. I did catch Agriphila inquinatella on 25th July, only my third record.
