Orange Sallow

Post by melbellingham »

72 moths of 23 species and 1 Red Admiral in the trap last night (3/9/2019 – 13.5 deg C min.), with Orange Sallow Tiliacea citrago NFY.

Not recorded since Sept. 2014, Orange Sallow was never regular, but always appreciated.

Red Admiral is the second butterfly species recorded in the trap this year, with 2 Painted Lady previously.

Hi Mel,

Orange Sallow is a nice moth. The only one I've caught in my garden was also in 2014 Sept 18th.

Hope you can make it on Thursday night at Gowy meadows.

Regards
Greg

Hi Greg,

Since 2003 I have 18 records of 19 moths. Most have come in September, but I do have odd records from August and October.

In Sept. 2014 I recorded 1 on 11th., 2 on 13th. and 1 on 15th. making it my best year for Orange Sallow.

See you Thursday.

Mel.
