Leaf Mines on Oak

Post by Tim_Ward »

I attach photographs of 2 mines on a single Oak leaf collected yesterday in the woods at Tegg's Nose. It looks like one of the mines is still tenanted and so I've put the leaf in a jar. I'd be grateful for help with identification, since leaf mines on Oak are so difficult. Tim

Hi Tim
The first two mines are Ectoedemia albifasciella.
As for the third, it does look tenanted, so have a look at the keys and photos on the leaf mines sites. It may be possible to identify, although this group are difficult.
Regards
Steve
