One NFY.......

I’ve failed to record Mottled Umber in the garden in 5 of the 17 years that I have been recording, but last night (22/10/2019 – 6.3 deg min) one did appear.

At this time of the year, with moth numbers down (in my garden if not elsewhere), I often run an MV trap for the early part of the night, then change over to an actinic or LED lamp for the remainder of the night. Last night was one such night.

125W MV lamp – (1845 hrs – 2230 hrs) – Merveille du Jour, Figure of Eight 3 and Eudonia angustea.
5W LED lamp – (2230 hrs – 0730 hrs) – Mottled Umber (NFY), Dark Chestnut and Garden Carpet.
