Leaf mine on Elm?

Hi Harry
You need to work out which side of the leaf the larva has emerged. Stigmella lemniscella emerges from the top of the leaf, whereas Stigmella ulmivora emerges from the underside. Not always possible to see on old mines but yours looks fairly fresh so the cut in the leaf should be visible.
If not bring it along the the next LCES meeting.
Regards
Steve
