A few moths at last

Post by Greg »

Morning All,

First trap for a couple of weeks produced 11 moths of 5 species.
1 Early Grey, 1 Hebrew Character, 5 Common Quakers, 3 Agonopterix heracliana,
1 Common Plume.

Can someone please confirm the micros for me ? Two shades of Agonopterix so not sure.

Thanks
Greg

Hi Greg,

We also finally had some moths last night here - only three, but after four fruitless sessions over recent weeks, that was welcome.

I'm no micro expert, but would agree with your micro IDs - we also had one very worn Agonopterix heracliana/ciliella last night. I'm sure you'll get a more definitive confirmation shortly!

Attached is our first Mottled Grey of the year. Our last moth was a Chestnut.

Regards, Julian
