The colourful Pine Beauty

A couple in my garden over the last few years in April.
Good numbers in Delamere.

If you don't have a copy of The Natural History of Moths by Mark Young (Poyser 1997), you may not have seen this image by Roy Leverton showing the Pine Beauty in a resting position which makes its camouflage scheme fully apparent - an amazing image, which I'd love to replicate, assuming I can find a suitably cooperative moth, whilst in possession of an appropriate pine shoot.
