We now think ukn 3 is Bracmia blandella. Could the Dichrorampha be Pammene aurita? Bob & Helen
Re: Micros for confirmation and ID
Hi Bob & Helen
Bracmia blandella is correct but I reckon you were nearer the true identity with Dichrorampha vancouverana. My only concern is ruling out D. alpinana & flavidorsana, although the blotch is more yellow on those two. I'll have a go at dissecting it for you if you have retained it.
Aspilapteryx tringipennella is OK. The other two are Aethes smeathmanniana and Acrolepiopsis assectella Leek Moth.
Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve. The leek moth is certainly variable. I'm concerned our neighbour who has a good vegetable patch in his garden has a problem. we never had this micro before this year!.
We have retained the moths just in case. Helen & Bob.

Dissection by Steve Hind has confirmed the Dichrorampha moth to be a female Dicrorampha vancouverana. Thanks Steve
