I thought this would be easy to identify but the closest candidates appear to be extremely rare in Cheshire.
I measured the wing length at at least 14mm which I think is just about equivalent to the very largest A. tristella but I have never seen one as plain brown or as large as this before.
Any thoughts as to its identity anyone?
