Grapholita lunulana:

Hi All,

This micro was found at Dawpool Cliffs near Thurstaston today (Sunday May 26th 2013). I think that it may be Grapholita lunulana but need confirmation before sending the record in to Record. The image shows a grey rather than a white hind wing.

Cheers
Harry Davies

Looks good to me Harry.

The hindwing of the male is white at the base becoming greyer towards the outside, whereas that of the female is entirely dark.

Steve

Thanks Harry.

That's only the eighth site it's been found in Cheshire VC58. It's not one that comes to light so we need to be out on a sunny afternoon when it's flying.

Regards,
Steve

Hi All,

They come in pairs!! Had one this morning on a rough area of Caldy Golf Course - not far from this one.
