Hello all, we were out in Westminster park in Chester yesterday at the Cheshire West and Chester Councils 'Take A Risk' day aimed at getting parents and their children to engage with the outdoors in whatever form.
Obviously we were there to try and encourage people to have a go at recording. During the day we were able to find a whole host of invertebrates (many of which I can't id) from in and around their recently planted conservation area.
One of the delights was my first sighting of a Common Ground hopper Tetrix undulata, I think?!
If anyone can help with the id from the appalling photo then I would be very grateful and quite frankly amazed.
Many thanks,
Eric

Re: Common Ground hopper
Quite correct in your identification Eric, you can now enter the record on RODIS Although closely related to Grasshoppers and Crickets, Groundhoppers don't stridulate and also overwinter as adults, so can be encountered virtually throughout the year.
